Bangalore is one of the most happening cities in the country. From expatriates to college students from far flung cities, Bangalore embraces one and all with an easy acceptance. And the city seems to thrive on a secret agreement; work hard and party harder is an unwritten rule here. From neighbourhood pubs to swanky upscale restaurants and dance floors where you can groove the night away, this city has it all. But finding the best places when you have been given so much to choose from can be hard. Which is why, we have put together a list of the best nightlife in the city so you don’t have to do the running around anymore:
The M.G. Road triangle
M.G. Road has been at the heart of Bangalore since aeons. So it’s no surprise that the most happening part of the city should be here. The M.G. Road, Residency Road, and Brigade Road triangle is the best of all that the city has to offer – from shopping to food and everything fun in between. Bangalore’s home of the rock lovers – the Hard Rock Cafe – is here. So are the other popular haunts like No Limmits, Hint, Sphyre, Amnesia and I Bar.
While Hard Rock Cafe or HRC is where the rock heads hold forth and memorabilia lines the walls, Amnesia is a favourite with the party crowd. It has a pool and a dance floor next to it and has been known to host some big names in the DJ circuit. Hint and Sphyre are both old names and yet they still have their legion of loyal fans.
No introduction to Bangalore is complete without a visit to Indiranagar. Walk down 100 feet road and you’ll know why. It is the perfect assortment of all the good things in life; Bangalore’s own ‘Strip’ a la Vegas if you may. All the big names in shopping, all the best eateries, and the best places to down a drink and let your hair down!
Xtreme Sports Bar is the place for sports lovers to hang out and have their quibbles over teams and players. Geoffrey’s is for friends and lovers to meet up and catch up on the week’s happenings. Eclipse, in the basement of the posh Leela Palace Hotel, is one of the best discos in Bangalore so if you feel like some music and dance, this is exactly where you need to be.
Koramangala is the centre for many of the events in Bangalore directed towards the youth and the city’s substantial college crowd. But, if you thought that was all, you are sadly mistaken. Koramangala boasts of some fabulous night-life spots like Banana Beach Bar, Firangi Paani, Jimis Beer Cafe, Legends of Rock, and Coco Bongo.
Coco Bongo is famous with the dancers in the city – this place has a large dance floor and hosts a lot of domestic DJs. Before HRC, Legends of Rock was the bastion of the rock-lovers in the city and still continues to be a popular place blaring out old forgotten rock ballads with every pint of beer.
With these happening places, one can enjoy the best nightlife in Bangalore!
